NEW FOR 2023: Each month we will be adding a ministering idea with treat tags or other printables to help you minister this year!
Some ideas on how to use these printables:
- Text them to each of the Sisters in your Ward
- Print and hand out to your Sisters
- Add a copy to your Relief Society newsletter that is emailed
- Pin a copy onto your Ward or Relief Society bulletin board
- Post it on social media. If you have a Ward or Relief Society Facebook group, this would be a great way to remind your Sisters to do their Ministering and hopefully start a discussion on various ways they can Minister!

In the December 2018 Ensign, there is a wonderful quote in the Ministering Principles article. I created a printable that year with this quote and it was very popular. It's still one of our most popular pins on Pinterest! Because it was for December, it had a winter themed background, so I decided to recreate it so you can use it all year!
This list is also going to be the blueprint of what we will be offering each month for the Ministering Idea. There are twelve ideas listed, so we will choose one each month to help give you ideas on what you can do for that idea!

For this month, the topic is "SAY IT". Sometimes it can be difficult getting to know someone you haven't had a connection with before. If this sounds like your situation, then it may be a good idea to have some conversation ideas ready for when you go ministering! Here are some of my favorite conversation starters:
- What do you like to do? (If they are a mother, they may focus on what they're doing with their children. Try to dig a little deeper and find out what she likes to do when she doesn't have any other prior committments or responsibilities!)
- Where did you grow up?
- What was your family life like when you were growing up?
- Do you like to go on vacations? What's been your favorite vacation?
- Do you work? What do you do? Do you enjoy it?
- If she has children, ask about each child - names, ages, what schools they go to, and what they like to do.
- If she is married, ask about her husband. Where does he work? What does he like to do? What do they enjoying doing together?
- Is there anything she's learning about right now? Does she enjoying reading, podcasts, listening to audiobooks? What genre is her favorite?
- What is her current calling in the church? What has been her favorite calling?
Next time you go ministering, keep a few of these questions in your mind to help you keep the conversation flowing! And LISTEN to what she says. That is the most important part. If you go with your ministering partner, you can also share with each other some of these same questions, but try to keep the main focus on the sister you're ministering to. You are there for her and to get to know her and understand her needs! And if you have trouble retaining knowledge, go home and write down the answers you heard. I like to keep a list in my prayer journal about the sisters I minister to so I can keep them in my prayers. Good luck in your ministering efforts this year!
