The Legend of Basara (Japanese: レジェンド・オブ・バサラ), was a thirteen episode anime adaptation of the manga that aired from April 2 to June 8, 1998. It was produced by KSS, directed by Norihiro Takamoto and was written by Takao Koyama, Yoshimichi Hosoi and Masashi Kubota. Music was by Fumitaka Anzai and Toshiyuki Omori, and the network it ran on was Sun Television. Sarasa is the protagonist of Basara, and the twin sister of Tatara. After Tatara's untimely death at the hands of the Red King, Sarasa takes up his name and appearance in order to prevent her people from losing hope in the revolution.
