Banana Bread Truffle Recipe (1)

So we are huge banana bread people. Well let’s just say my husband is the banana bread hoarder. He will eat a whole loaf of bread in one sitting if he could…yeah, the addiction is real.

Banana is one of my favorite baking flavors. You can see some of my favorites such as this Banana Bread Pudding, Southern Banana Pudding and my Banana Upside Down Cake!

Banana bread is one thing we have on hand a lot of the time since we always have so many bananas sitting around. I wanted to create something that was utterly delicious, so in turn these Banana Bread Truffles were born.

INGREDIENTS NEEDED:

  • Banana bread
  • Cream Cheese
  • Candiquik
  • Chopped walnuts
  • Cinnamon

This Banana Bread Truffle Recipe is seriously so easy, literally fail-proof, and those are truly the recipes that we adore. Truffles are usually easy, and they are one of my absolute favorite recipes of all time.

So for this recipe you can use a store bought or homemade loaf of banana bread, it’s just a standard loaf pan size. We used this recipe HERE because we absolutely love this banana bread.

If you don’t feel like making homemade, you absolutely can purchase one from the store, but make sure that it is a standard loaf size and not smaller because then the amount of frosting you put in it will be different.

One question I get a lot is “how long do homemade truffles last”? These should be stored in an airtight container where they will keep for up to 4 days.

HOW TO MAKE TRUFFLES:

  1. Cook and cool your banana bread, if making homemade.
  2. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper or silpat mat, set aside.
  3. In large bowl add banana bread and crumble into crumbs.
  4. Add in your container of cream cheese frosting and mix until combined.
  5. Using a cookie scoop grab your batter and roll into balls and place on prepared pans and freeze for about 30 minutes.
  6. Melt your candiquik according to package directions.
  7. Using spoon dip your banana bread balls into melted chocolate and spoon around to coat and place back on baking sheet.
  8. Sprinkle with chopped walnuts and a little bit of cinnamon and let set.

See how easy making homemade truffles can be? They are one of those recipes that we love making at holidays and give away as part of “foodie gifts”. Because we all know everyone enjoys those types of gifts, well I do anyways.

Banana Bread Truffle Recipe (3)

So to describe this Banana Bread Truffle Recipe lets just take a mash up or banana cake with cream cheese frosting, banana bread, white chocolate and banana nut with a hint of cinnamon.

I know that is a lot to swallow there but you guyyyyyys, these are so amazing. They are so easy, they are banana bread in a different form, and if you are like me you love desserts in different forms. I mean just check out my cookbook, it’s all about that.

TIPS AND TRICKS:

  • Using candiquik or white chocolate melting wafers always makes an amazing coating, that is why I like using this. You can also use white chocolate and melt it that way, but white chocolate likes to seize up when melting so I avoid it most of the time.
  • Switch it up, chocolate and bananas go super well together, use chocolate candiquik or melting wafers for a different flavor combination.
  • These are technically also considered cake pops, just without the stick, you can insert a stick and make the into cake pops instead of truffles if you like.
  • Make sure you store in the refrigerator since they contain cream cheese frosting.
  • You can add nuts in the mixture if you really want that banana nut bread type of texture instead of sprinkling them on the top.

Do they need to be refrigerated after making?

    • Tornadough Alli

Yes I would suggest refrigerating them after being made because of the frosting.

Can you use white chocolate chips instead to melt?

    • Tornadough Alli

You can, it shouldn’t be an issue. I would suggest melting your white chocolate over a double boiler as white chocolate is notorious for seizing up.

What to do if your banana bread batter is too thick? ›

Thankfully, the banana bread batter is forgiving, and it's not too hard to fine-tune it. If your batter's a bit too thick, add a tablespoon or two of milk to thin it out.
